Pastor of Pastoral Care Ministry Description

Responsibilities
1. Regularly visit (converse, read Scripture, and pray) with those who are shut-in, those with chronic
illness, those who are widows and widowers, and those who are generally aging.
2. Follow-up visits with those who have had surgery.
3. Meet with church staff weekly; maintain regular contact with Senior Pastor in order to communicate particular needs or Elder issues that arise.
4. As the schedule allows, participate regularly (goal is one time per month) in the Sunday worship prayer time (either AM or PM).
5. Be available for emergency pastoral care needs if and when the Elders and /or the Senior Pastor deem it necessary.

Accountability
Must submit a written monthly report to the Council detailing the number and types of visits that were made, as well as any other input that is deemed pertinent.

Compensation
Position to be paid per hour, plus current IRS rate for mileage.

Notes
1. Should be an ordained pastor in the CRC or RCA (possibly retired).
2. Should become an active participant in the life of PECRC.
3. Responsibilities, accountability, and compensation will be reviewed after the position has been filled for six months enabling identification of any adjustments or changes that might be necessary.
